This drawing was a personal reaction to the many comments I've received through the years about my resemblance to the movie actress Kristen Stewart (pictured left).
Light Painting Series
This series is composed of multiple individuals exposed through the process of "light painting."
During this process, the figures are asked to remain still in complete darkness while the camera "records" a photo via an extended exposure time. During this period, I enter the space with a flashlight and highlight certain parts of the body. These soft strokes are what the camera records, and the results can be often ethereal.
Sense of Taste
This series refers to the areas (physical or sensual) of the body that are influenced by the sense of taste (specifically, food).
All of the frames display the names and type designs of multiple restaurants within the city of Florence, Italy. The figures within the frames are drawn on napkins that were taken from a few of those restaurants.
Featured in Ganzo "Taste of Florence" Showcase in Florence, Italy.
This series reflects the tenants of the Dada art movement, which featured artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Jean Arp and Hannah Höch.
The key elements of Dada included political commentary, the elimination of a work’s purpose or meaning, and the general undermining of artistic conventions or generally accepted traditions.
All of the images were handmade and original. The collection was eventually published in a small zine titled “This was an Assignment.”
This collage was an interpretive response to an editorial discussing a possible solution to the act of bullying between schoolchildren. According to the author, one of the most important factors was establishing a supportive community among the children, which is communicated here in this composition.
